Haley Taylor Schlitz, JD, attended public, private, and homeschool/ hybrid schools before attending Tarrant County College at age 13. She graduated from Texas Women’s University in 2019 at the age of 16 with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. She is currently a second-year law student at the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Haley Taylor Schlitz and her mother also have published a book on homeschooling for Black children called The Homeschool Alternative: Incorporating a Homeschool Mindset for the Benefit of Black Children in America.
More recently, Haley co-wrote Turn on the Power: How School Is Limiting Your Child's Potential and What to Do about It with Nancy Shastid, Myeisha Taylor, and Noel Jett, Ph.D.. Haley's experience as a hybrid-schooled, accelerated student provides her with a unique and valuable perspective on the subject of traveling alternative educational paths.
