​Myiesha Taylor, M.D. graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana summa  cum laude with a B.S. in Chemistry. She subsequently graduated with her medical degree from the University of Southern California School of Medicine and is now a homeschooling mom to Ian and Hana as well as a practicing physician.

Myiesha is co-author of The Homeschool Alternative: Incorporating a Homeschool Mindset for the Benefit of Black Children in America with her daughter Haley Taylor Schlitz. She also co-wrote Turn on the Power: How School Is Limiting Your Child's Potential and What to Do about It with Nancy Shastid, Haley Taylor Schlitz, and Noel Jett, Ph.D. Myiesha recognized her children's need for an alternative educational path. While remaining fully engaged as a practicing physician, she continues to guide and support her children in blazing their respective educational trails. Myiesha brings tremendous experience with the gifted population and homeschooling and generously shares her wisdom in Turn on the Power.
